Best Regards, Frank T Chen, DTM ---------------------- Host Division C Governor’s Welcome MessageFellow Toastmasters in Division C, District 4 and Most Welcomed Guests, Division C as the host division for the 2009 District 4 Fall Conference is honored and proud to welcome you all. As we are just recovering from the economy down turn in the past months, it would be a refreshing feeling for us all to attend a special conference like this -- focusing specially on show-casing and celebrating our recent achievements in communication and leadership. The “Magic of Toastmasters” theme brings us a special message, not an instant appearance of wishes but depicting steady transformational changes to a brighter future in each one of us through our Toastmasters experience. Through the Conference, we hope you will be empowered and motivated to advance our skills in communication and leadership; to foster a better community relationship with our fellow Toastmasters, and to reinforce our common bond with each others for further growth and success together. Moreover, this year is the Toastmasters International’s 85th anniversary. To help celebrate this occasion, we have the special honor to have President of Toastmasters International in our mist at our Fall Conference. We will meet and hear from him, as well as other world-class invited speakers. They come to inspire us and to guide us to a higher level of excellence in both services to our members and to our communities, and in practical leadership. The world class workshops speakers will share their inspiration and magic of success in Toastmasters. The Hall of Fame provides us a glimpse of many Toastmasters’ accomplishments in the last six short months, both in public speaking skills and leadership excellence. The highlight of the Fall Conference is of course is the Humorous Speech and Evaluation Contest. The winning contestants from all eight Divisions will be competing – showcasing their mastering of public speaking skills, with humors and laughter from the audience. I am sure that you will be delighted and pleasantly entertained. The unique skills in Toastmaster’s way of evaluation will also be demonstrated in the Evaluation Contest. You will see how the magic of Toastmasters works through the Toastmasters evaluation process. Probably the most memorable part of the conference would be the human touch with your colleagues in Toastmasters, whether through informal sharing of their life experiences or providing tip-bits of each other’s magic in life success. The Magic of Toastmasters is in education value, fun and social connections. I hope you will enjoy all three in this Fall Conference throughout this 2-day event. Frank T Chen, DTM |
